Female rap group Da 5Footaz have announced they are returning to the rap game with four new group members.
The original duo, which consisted of Jah Skillz and NebLuv, were signed to Def Jam through a deal with Warren G., in the mid-1990's.
Their deal with Def Jam was derailed when Warren G. clashed with the label, but they re-signed to BMG, but their album The Lost Scrolls was never released.
Now, Da 5Footaz are preparing to release a new mixtape titled Rewired, which is a prelude to their official album Ride of Your Life.
The all-female group consists of Jah Skills, NebLuv, Knehi, Cobra, Ka-Bar and I-AME.
"We are very excited about how much positive feedback we have been getting about our project," said Skillz, who is also earning her bachelor's degree.
"Many have grown into producing, playing instruments, singing (and) things of that nature, so you'll see more of those attributes," Skillz said of their long-delayed release. "This album will be fun, informative and a lyrical 411 on what it is to be a 'B-Girl,' and how Hip-Hop really should be represented."
In addition to their album Ride of Your Life, Da 5Footaz are preparing a new reality show and documentary, which will coincide with the release.
