Mobb Deep is working on their first album in nearly five years. Since Prodigy’s release from prison in March, after serving three years, the Queens duo finally will be able to record a new album.
In a recent interview Prodigy had this to say:
“We working on it, me and Hav in the studio everyday going hard. We are not going to put nothing out there that is not crazy, because right now it is not a game, you know what I mean? We understand the importance of putting something that is going to stand the test of time right now.”
Havoc also spoke on his recent production work:
“I did that thing for Eminem and he won the Grammy and all, so you know I got the Grammy on the mantle. Got a new one on the new project he [Eminem] is doing with Royce Da 5’9. I just did something for Ludacris. And you know I am going to be hitting 50 [Cent] off because he is coming out with a new joint.”
A release date for the new Mobb Deep album has not been announced, but I think they should focus on putting out HOT singles rather than a full length album that will surely not reach the audience they expect after the drastic changes to the music business taking place in the last 5 years.
